Discover the ruins of a 12th-century castle
One of the biggest castle sites in Europe, Spiš Castle, built in the 12th century, was destroyed in 1780 by a mysterious fire and subsequently fell into disrepair. You’ll tour the famous castle, which was partially rebuilt in the late 20th century and houses artifacts such as torture devices formerly used there.
Sleep close to the stars
After a day of gazing at castle ruins, you’ll retire to your hotel in the High Tatras, the tallest range in the Carpathian Mountains, which connects Slovakia and Poland. Before turning in, feast on regional delicacies like blood sausage and sauerkraut soup.
